The culturally diverse and interdisciplinary faculty of the Institute for Professional Development (IPD) bring both subject matter expertise and front-line experience to provide a rich collaborative didactic and experiential learning environment for participants in the Institute’s training programs and workshop offerings. A range of on-site and virtual trainings support skill development in areas such as trauma-informed interventions, cultural responsiveness, suicide prevention, vicarious trauma, and self-care, among other topics.
Our mission is to build the capacity of a broad range of mental health professionals
and other providers to deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive services to individuals who face the unique and complex mental health challenges of catastrophic events such as war, genocide, forced migration, and loss.
IPD fosters collaboration among mental health professionals engaged in direct services and research focusing on trauma due to war, forced displacement, natural disasters, and loss.
